Grounded Amsterdam is live!
This week we launched the temporary website for Grounded, our new 3D venture! Grounded brings 3D printing to the masses. We do this by showing you how easy and beautifull 3D printing can be. Right now we are focussing on growing our network by promoting Grounded on exhibits and shows, like the 3D printing show in London on the 19th of October. At this point we will also launch our brand new online platform for Grounded including an online store and a blog. End of 2012 we hope to open our real physical store here in Amsterdam.

We will be selling and distributing their great collection online. Our main focus at this point is North America but we are allready planning our strategy for selling in China, where especially their Dick Bruna miffy products are very popular. The subscribers get their own account where they can login and create and maintain their own homepage, profile and products. Right now BrocanteShops is still growing every month. At this moment more than 225 brocante shops have joined the site and more than 3000 objects were added. More than a 1000 people decided to follow us on Twitter and almost 800 people liked us on Facebook.
We hope to keep continuing this growth and accieve our target of 500 brocante shops by the end of the year.

TopSecretUSB.com is online!
Yes! The new website TopSecret.com is online. The TopSecret USB flash drive is a great cooperation between the young Dutch designers Rob Hermes and Marlies Romberg both owner of Studio Her-berg.
The object is made of high quality porcelain, finished off with a beautifull wax stamp containing the logo of Her-berg. A TopSecret USB is delivered in a beautifull crafted cardboard box with laser cutted text. Check out the site here.

I’m really excited to announce we have a great guest speaker; Peter Troxler.
Peter runs Square One, an independent research company at the intersection of business, society and technology.
As he states:
“Currently, my main focus is investigating and developing business models of open source anything – design, hardware, inventions – and the corresponding formats and ecologies of innovation and co-creation”
Peter is one of the editors of the inspiring book ‘Open Design Now,’ and has also been an instructor at Fab Academy and Business Developer at Fab Lab Luzern.
